10 Beloved Cult Classic Video Games That Desperately Deserve Sequels

9. Beyond Good And Evil

A game that centres around a photography-obsessed nanny for orphaned animal children doesn’t sound like much, but stick with me: you’re going to love this.

Beyond Good and Evil was released in a golden age of Xbox dominance and it was definitely the jewel in their crown. It far outstripped Halo and probably should’ve been the Xbox’s bundled title but instead it was put on the back burner in favour of the Master Chief’s first outing and Jet Set Radio Future/Sega GT 2002.

The central character, Jade, is a brilliant protagonist who you guide through beautiful scenery and some rather scary scenes in pursuit of the truth surrounding disappearing people and animals. With your trusty staff and camera in hand, you expose an evil alien horde that has infiltrated the planet, and take them down in one of the hardest final boss battles of all time.

BGAE has been rumoured to be getting a sequel for years now and, for those who haven’t played this utter gem of a game, it is worth all the praise it has garnered and more without a shadow of a doubt. Hopefully the rumours and development stills are real. Everything crossed for this.

Probably the only person ever to see all the endings of the awful Shadow the Hedgehog video game. Professional proofreader, football fanatic, lion tamer and occasional liar.
