10 Beloved PS1 Exclusives That NEED To Come Back
7. Bushido Blade
Another Squaresoft entry on this list, but surprisingly, not an RPG.
The company have dabbled with other genres as we know, even fighting games. We've had Ehrgeiz, a brawler with familiar franchise names, that was quite entertaining.
But another series that gets sorely overlooked is that of Bushido Blade.
What made it unique was that it took combat seriously. There were no life bars, with damage being proportionality realistic. In layman's terms: if you get stabbed, you die. A poorly timed block could see a limb crippled.
Bushido Blade didn't mess about.
Given Mortal Kombat's formative rise back to the top of the brutal beat 'em ups, what better time to bring back a series that really tested your mettle against... well, sharp metal.
The series didn't make a leap into the millenium (spiritual successor Kengo notwithstanding), so why not bring back a title that was a much a challenge as it was entertaining? We crave challenge in the form of Dark Souls, Cuphead and such, why not the beat 'em up too?
Nothing says "rage quit" like having your hamstrings cut in the middle of a duel.
