10 Beloved PS1 Exclusives That NEED To Come Back
3. Tombi!
There's a reason why original copies of Tombi! (or Tomba! in America) hit such a high price.
Well, besides a limited print run.
It's because it was an insanely fun 2D platformer. Granted, the console may have had a few already, and we were already inundated with the last generation's offerings too, but Tombi! was different.
Much like Klonoa, the mechanic from just squashing enemies to picking them up and hoofing them off of things made it all the more fun. It may not have pushed graphical limitations, but it didn't need to. The core concept was "have a blast" and we did.
The sequel lost its charm by attempting a more three dimensional, blocky look, which makes the first one the preferred of the two.
Sadly, unlike Klonoa, it didn't make the jump to the next gen, and our pink haired pig thrower hasn't been seen since the turn of the century.
What better time to revisit some classic platforming than one so idolised on Sony's first console?
