10 Beloved Video Games You Forgot Never Got Sequels
10. Gun
Released as one of the first Xbox 360 games, Gun satisfied gamers' cravings for a fun, explosive and campy Old West tale long before Red Dead Redemption burst onto the scene to steal its Wild West crown. You might be forgiven in thinking that Gun indeed received a sequel, if only because a fake poster for the second game has been a long-running easter egg that's been showing up in games for over ten years. As far back as Tony Hawk's Proving Ground, teasers for Gun 2 have been found in many Activision titles, with the fake advertisement showing up as recently as 2014's Call of Duty Ghost's DLC. To add insult to injury, these teasers don't seem to point to the game being in development, but rather it looks like nothing but an in-joke at the expense of everyone who enjoyed the 2005 original. With Red Dead Redemption's colossal popularity, now might be the time for a Wild West rejuvenation and Gun to make its rightful comeback - or maybe the closest thing to a sequel players are going to get is a ten year old fake poster that pops up now and again in more popular titles?
