Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker's Memory is the fifth installment in the "Digimon Story" line of games, and without any doubt the best entry in the series. Considering the similarities between the Digimon and Pokemon franchises, it might be a little too on the nose to call this a Pokemon clone but, well, if the shoe fits...

Funnily enough, Hacker's Memory has many of the same aspects die-hard Pokemon fans have been requesting Gamefreak incorporate in their own games for quite some time now - and released a whole two years before Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Unlike Pokemon, Hacker's Memory is more focused on quick, decisive combat. Random encounters and battles will be over in a blink of an eye, allowing you to progress through the lengthy game at a quick pace. The game also allows you to carry nine Digimon at a time, making type effectiveness and party building a breeze.

For all its similarities to Pokemon, Hacker's Memory does feel like it's trying to break new ground in a somewhat stale genre while simultaneously trying to appeal to orthodox RPG-lovers. Also, let's be real - Digimon just all-round look cooler. Nothing in Pokemon will ever look as cool as Omnimon.
