10 Best Baseball Video Games Of All Time

10. Wii Sports

While not your traditional baseball game, Wii Sports did include one hell of a baseball mechanic. And thanks to being packaged with the Wii, almost anyone and everyone played it. There really was no better way to get used to the motion controls of the Wii than by spending hours bowling, playing tennis and smacking home runs in Wii Sports.

The baseball portion of Wii Sports had the most basic of controls - you didn't even control the fielding or base running, only the pitching and batting. Even with a serious lack of control over the game as a whole, that's not to say this game wasn't an immense amount of fun. There was nothing like having a whole group of people getting together and trying to see who could hit the most home runs in the hitting mini games. There was also nothing more satisfying than physically throwing a changeup and making your friend strikeout by a mile.

With no MLB license, no teams and no real players, Wii Sports was one of those anomalies that managed to be a fun and entertaining baseball game even without the hoopla of the MLB. Even if it was, at its core, nothing more than a hitting and pitching simulator. Thanks to a number of people who owned it, and how welcoming it was due to the easy gameplay, Wii Sports will go down as a fun and memorable experience to not only baseball fans and video game fans, but the general public as well.
