Nightmare is a gravity-manipulating bio-lifeform in Metroid Fusion. The cyborg was designed by the Galactic Federation for military operations but was corrupted by a parasite, causing it to run amok. As you approach the creature's lair, you can momentarily see its silhouette in the background, almost as if it's taunting you.

Once you enter his arena, the boss battle seems pretty generic. Nightmare is just a big robot who shoots lasers at you. No biggie. But when he receives enough damage, his faceplate bursts off, kicking off the second phase of the fight as well as exposing his pulsating, deformed head.

For the rest of the fight, Samus must use the ladder to climb upward so she can project missiles into the monster's ugly mug. This is really difficult since Nightmare can manipulate gravity to weigh you down, minimising your ability to jump.

You know what's the most memorable moment about this guy? He gets uglier as the fight goes on. Every time you blast his face with a missile, it discolours his skin and causes it to swell.
