10 Best Boss Battles In Metroid History
5. Quadraxis - Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
Quadraxis is a spider-like mechanoid that you encounter near the end of Metroid Prime 2. First off, "Quadraxis" is the coolest names ever. Whoever came up with that should get a medal. Secondly, Quadraxis is one of the most innovative bosses in the series.
At first, the drone's strategies seem pretty reasonable. He will spin around like a tornado, generate shockwaves, and shoot energy blasts. After you damage its kneecaps, the robot's body will collapse, forcing its head to separate and hover around the arena.
Although it's body is disconnected, it's not useless. A transmitter on the the robot's lower half sends a signal to three receivers on the head, generating an impenetrable forcefield. You need to switch to the Echo Visor to disconnect the transmitter, allowing you to destroy the receivers.
Once all receivers are broken, you then move on to the most creative section of the scrap. You need to use the Morph Ball to crawl into the boss' legs and use the Boost Ball to blast onto Quadraxis' noggin.
Once you successfully cling onto its head, you can place a bomb into one of two slots. Perform this action twice to defeat the awesome automaton once and for all.
