Honestly, there isn't a whole lot of difference between Xenoverse 2 and its predecessor (this explains the close placing in these rankings). The sequel's story hits the same beats as the first with some slight differences in how it plays out. Gameplay is also very similar between the two with just the addition of new moves and attacks. Despite the similarities, Xenoverse 2 is bigger and better, with more characters and more quests.

One of the biggest changes in this game is the size of the hub world, as Conton City is much larger than Toki Toki City from the first game. The new hub world includes new side quests such as feeding Buu, defending Planet Namek and doing the Great Saiyaman missions. None of the new side quests are amazing but they are a fine distraction.

Expert missions were another good addition to Xenoverse 2 as they allowed players to team up with up to 6 people online to face off against exceptionally difficult enemies. If you can find a few friends to play with then the expert missions are a lot of fun.

The game is too similar to the first Xenoverse but it took the best parts of it and made strong additions. If you view it without the context of its predecessor it's a fantastic Dragon Ball Z game.
