4. Dragon Ball FighterZ

A lot of times when a new Dragon Ball Z game comes out, people say that it looks "just like the anime". That's usually hyperbole, but with Dragon Ball FighterZ, it's true.

The cel-shaded characters look exactly like their anime counterparts, making this the best looking Dragon Ball game ever (which is to be expected as it's the latest release).

Dragon Ball FighterZ plays as well as it looks, as the battles are very fluid and played at a furious pace that suits Dragon Ball. This is the purest fighting game in the series and players who aren't even fans of the anime can still get plenty of enjoyment out of this game.

The only thing that lets this game down is the story mode. FighterZ deserves credit for trying to create an original story in the Dragon Ball universe but it doesn't entirely work. As with a lot of fighting games, the plot is mediocre and the dialogue - while funny at times - usually comes off very cheesy. Although the story mode is not outright bad, it is still the weakest part of the game.

Luckily, everything beyond the story is great, and gameplay is the real selling point.
