10 Best Dungeons In The Legend Of Zelda Franchise

5. Tower Of The Gods

How much you enjoy the divisive Wind Waker will depend on how much you enjoy sailing the King of Red Lions, Link’s sentient boat. If you’re not a fan of the high sea adventures, then the Tower of the Gods is unlikely to be to your taste.

If you’re down with Link’s nautical adventures, though, this is a great level, a distinctive challenge for the hero that combines the usual puzzles and combat with sailing. Link must steer the talking boat around the tower, altering the water level to allow him to ascend the dungeon.

If water level alteration is setting off alarm bells, this is a much less frustrating variation on this theme, as your goal - to go upwards - is far more clear.

This is an all round fun dungeon - it’s a turning point in the game, the moment Link confirms his status as a hero, and it’s an accordingly awe inspiring temple, standing tall and daunting in the great ocean. A few of Wind Waker’s temples are a little lacking in terms of epic Zelda moments, but the Tower of the Gods certainly isn’t one of them.
