10 Best End Credits Songs In Video Games

1. Kimi No Kioku (Persona 3)

This isn't the first time "Kimi No Kioku" has topped a list, but that's just proof of its enduring greatness.

Persona 3 may end in death, but its final song is a testament to the joys of living. Sung from the perspective of mechanical high school girl Aegis (yes this game was made in Japan, thank you for asking), "Kimi No Kioku" is a moving paean to a life well-lived.

Acting as a eulogy to Persona 3's blue-haired protagonist, "Kimi No Kioku" is simulateneously heartbreaking and triumphant. The hero may be gone, but the memories he created will live on forever - both in the minds of his friends, and the players who experienced his journey.

(Oddly enough, this is the second song in a row on this list that features a female android singing about the human condition. Apparently Mechanical Females + Lyrical Lamentation = Pathos. A tip for any aspiring game-writer!)

Favourite lyric - itsudatte itsudatte itsudatte. Even if you have no idea what the singer is saying, the emotion she packs in these words will give you goosebumps.
