10 Best Final Bosses In Resident Evil History
6. Nemesis -Resident Evil 3
It's safe to say that the RE3-make was a huge disappointment for many a Resi fan, and the reasons for that can be found in the contrasting ways it and the original dealt with the game's eponymous antagonist.
Whereas the remake's final battle turns the STARS-stalking bioweapon into a generic blob monster that confuses size for initmidation (Capcom apparently not realising that a giant turd still looks like a turd), the original's smaller but more mobile lizard-like form makes the Nemesis look far more sinister.
Also, the cramped confines of the original's location make for a thematically perfect arena. After being hunted across an entire city, the claustrophobic nature of the room makes it clear that this is it - there's nowhere else to run, and no way out but through the bastard who has terrorized you for the entire game. This feeling is completely lost in the air-hangar sized location the remake's fight takes place in.
Finally, whoever at Capcom decided to remove Jill's so-bad-its-good "You want STARS? I'll give you stars!" line? Hang your head in shame, sir.
If you want the best version of RE3's final battle (and the best version of RE3 full stop) you need to play the original.
