10 Best Hidden Gem RPGs Of The Last 10 Years

4. Dragonball Z: Kakarot

Greedfall game
Namco Bandai

The closest entry on this list to breaking into the mainstream, Dragonball Z: Kakarot - the latest in a long, LONG line of Dragonball Z games that retell the world-famous manga through its most famous arcs - was hyped up like mad when it was coming out. And while it did make something of a splash when it was released, it was nowhere near previous contemporaries like Dragonball FighterZ.

However, Kakarot does enough new with the concept to make it more than worth checking out. For one thing, it's a proper RPG, with a free-roam world the player can explore at their leisure, instead of a fighting game telling the same story you've seen a million times in an uninterestingly linear fashion.

The combat is smooth as butter, while still maintaining the weight, speed, and cataclysmic destruction one expects from a Dragonball Z punch-fest. If you're in need of a good anime fighting game/RPG and the 2D action of FighterZ isn't scratching that itch the way you need it to, Kakarot should be at the top of your list.
