10 Best Horror Video Games Of 2020

2. The Last Of Us Part II

Maid Of Sker
Naughty Dog

Now, who’s ready for some controversy? The Last of Us Part II takes its place on this list firstly for the brutal, extreme horror of the game and secondly because no game in recent memory has been so divisive or controversial. A follow up to The Last of Us, one of the most beloved games in a generation, the original story told back in 2013 is known by most, with most who have enjoyed (or endured) it agreeing that it's not just one of the best video game plots of all time, but one of the finest plots in all of media and entertainment.

A sequel that wasn’t needed but still welcomed, The Last of Us Part II was liked by critics, hated by many fans, and also managed to pick up “Game of the Year 2020” at the Video Game Awards. To get into the controversy of the game would be to spoil the plot, which won’t be happening here.

Plot aside, this game features some intense gameplay, with an emphasis on stealth and taking down baddies in a quite barbaric manner. Also, in true Naughty Dog fashion, the game looks gorgeous, as rain water, tears, and blood realistically and emotionally fall, leaving the player with that melancholic feeling that only this type of harsh and unforgiving post-apocalyptic tale can give you.

Survival after a pandemic, controversial themes, divide and a lot of rain, no not the UK in 2020, The Last of Us Part II is a game that has to be experienced to see just how a sequel should, or should not, be made.
