10 Best Indie Video Games Of The Month (April, 2021)

4. Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion

It's what it says on the tin: our hero Turnip Boy gets into a spot of trouble after ripping up his tax bill for outstanding property tax. Now Mayor Onion has sent this mischievous Brassica rapa on a series of errands to clear his greenhouse debt and name... maybe.

Turnip Boy is a delightful treat for any top-down RPG lover. What starts as simple quests to atone for your devilish tax-evading crimes soon spiral into Turnip Boy committing several other felonies while uncovering a dastardly corrupt plot rotting the vegetable patch.

The game is pretty simplistic when it comes to gameplay and puzzles, which seems intentional as Turnip Boy's charm lies in its wickedly comical twists and turns.

Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion's relatively brief adventure has plenty of heart, unexpectedly references, and non-stop laughs throughout. With the gameplay of Zelda, and the charming, tongue-in-cheek humour of Later Alligator, Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion is a must-have this month for PC and Switch players.
