10 Best LGBT+ Characters In Gaming History

4. Dusa - Hades

Hades Dusa
Supergiant Games

Hades is basically top-to-bottom brilliant. One of the most addictive rogue-likes of all time, it keeps players coming back with it's moreish gameplay, rocking soundtrack and a crisp visual style.

But taking a break from slaying monsters and attempting to escape the underworld, player character Zagreus can kick back and have a chat with several Greek legends and Gods. One of these is Dusa, as in the Medusa, the Gorgon with a head full of snakes.

In Hades, she is literally just a head in fact, but that didn't stop players from attempting to romance her. Dusa is cheerful, giggly and sometimes shy around the buff hunk that is Zagreus for good reasons. However, when the son of Hades expresses he has feelings for her, Dusa eventually confesses her love for him but that it doesn't manifest in an intimate way.

LGBT+ is a wide encompassing spectrum and so for a video game to even touch on an aromantic and/or asexual character is always nice, especially one as heart-warming as Dusa.

Hades does an incredible job of representing this across the board as Zagreus can romance the female Megaera and the male Thanatos. In fact the game is, even more than this, polyamory-friendly as you can romance all three without a hint of jealousy.

For a game set next to the river of the damned, there's a lot of love there.
