10 Best Looking Video Games Of The Generation (So Far)
1. Red Dead Redemption II
Red Dead Redemption II, released in late 2018, was a stunning achievement in every possible regard. While most games are great in one department, be it gameplay, story, visuals, world-building, music, etc., Red Dead Redemption was brilliant in all.
The tale of Arthur Morgan, a hard-headed cowboy, and his group on the run from the law in the dying throes of the wild west, is one of the best ever told in the medium. Throw in a jaw-dropping open-world overflowing with things to do, a mind-blowing hunting system, side quests and activities a plenty, and colourful characters on each corner, and you have one of the most believable worlds ever crafted.
Red Dead Redemption II is detail personified; whether it's the dynamic snow on the mountains, mud on wagon wheels, blood on character clothing, intricate designs on guns, or the infamous horse testicles, the game is totally peerless in regards to level of detail.
As we near the end of the eight generation of video game consoles, Red Dead Redemption II stands head and shoulders above the competition as the best looking video game ever made. Hopefully we don't have to wait eight years for the next.
