10 Best Looking Video Games Of The Generation (So Far)

9. The Witcher III: Wild Hunt

When The Witcher III released back in 2015, the entire gaming community was blown-away at the level of detail and graphical fidelity of a world so massive. From the peaks of Skellige to the streets of Novigrad, it felt like no inch of the world hadn't been hand-crafted with love.

The character models looked incredible, with skin blemishes, reactive clothing, and hair flowing in natural ways. On top of that, the monsters were intricate and gross, not unlike those in a From Software game. The world itself had an interesting art-style that didn't attempt to evoke real life, but opted for something more colourful.

Interestingly, The Witcher III doesn't quite hold-up as well as you might imagine. Yes the game still looks amazing with trees swaying in the wind, beautiful particle effects, and plenty of little details, but graphical hitches are now more obvious in lieu of games that have released since. The draw distance isn't great and some textures are more low-res than you remember, but it's still impressive.

The Witcher III was a technical marvel when it released in 2015 and it put its contemporaries to shame. It's still one of the best looking games out there.
