10 Best Looking Video Games Of The Generation (So Far)

8. Batman: Arkham Knight

Red dead redemption 2
DC

The end to Rocksteady's Batman Arkham trilogy released back in 2015 and it's the most divisive of the lot. Some fans and critics didn't care for the bigger open world, the rather predictable plot twist, or the Batmobile, but absolutely nobody said the game wasn't stunning.

Batman: Arkham Knight saw the Caped Crusader go on one last mission to rid Gotham of Scarecrow's evil. Along the way he's haunted by The Joker and his past mistakes, and must battle demons from all walks of life. It's a great game and a fitting end to the trilogy, and it holds up terrifically well.

The four year old game still looks incredible, with brilliant character models, and an intricate, grimy Gotham that feels alive. Rocksteady knew its game was pretty and that's why so much of it is rain-slicked, which is just fine because it makes for some awesome photo captures. Every still of the game could be a photo from a comic book or a movie, with Batman gliding over the city with the moon in the sky, stomping the heads of goons, or sliding round corners in the Batmobile. It's a serious achievement in game design and is still one of this generation's best.
