10 Best Looking Video Games Of The Generation (So Far)
5. Assassin's Creed: Odyssey
Many will have you believe that Assassin's Creed: Odyssey was the game that rejuvenated the franchise but that's a stretch. Truth be told, none of the AC games have been that bad, gamers just got a little tired of annual releases. Of course, everything reached boiling point with the notoriously glitchy AC: Unity, but Syndicate, that came afterwards, was actually a great game.
All of this is to say that Assassin's Creed: Origins was the first real change for the series; introducing RPG elements, myriad side quests, and a huge open world. Yet Odyssey tweaked the formula that much more and improved upon it.
Odyssey took us to Greece and its many surrounding islands. That meant a mountainous map with high peaks that provided impeccable views of the land, as well as vast open seas upon which Spartan and Athenian ships conduct business and battle. It also meant beautiful towns, farms, and cities in which your character leaps across rooftops and kicks a lot of ass.
Odyssey is the biggest Assassin's Creed game to date and it was also the most visually impressive. Exploring Greece was a blast, not only because of the gameplay and story, but because of how pretty it all was.
