10 Best Looking Video Games Of The Generation (So Far)

While expectations were high for Insomniac's Spider-Man on PS4, few could have predicted just how....well....amazing, it would turn out.

You see, for far too long we got mediocre Spider-Man game after mediocre Spider-Man game from various studios within Activision. The reason being truncated development cycles to ensure prominent release dates. As such, gamers lost faith that a good Spider-Man game could exist.

Then Marvel Games took the rights to Spider-Man and gave him to Insomniac Games, the team that made Ratchet & Clank, Sunset Overdrive, and the perennially underrated Resistance series. When the first trailer was revealed at E3 2016, suffice to say fans were both surprised and cautiously optimistic.

The game released in 2018 to stellar reviews and has become the best-selling PS4 exclusive. And that's because it was an excellent game that was incredibly fun to play, and took place in the best rendition of New York City we've ever seen. Whether it was Freedom Tower or the Ghostbusters firehouse, every inch of the city was painstakingly recreated, with a gorgeous day and night cycle.

Furthermore, the characters models were phenomenal, with Spider-Man himself, and his many suits, the star of the show. Spider-Man PS4 looks as good as it plays, and that speaks volumes.
