This was definitely a big gamble for Capcom. Not only did they reinvent the franchise in the best way, but they kickstarted the platform on the PlayStation 4.

This was the first AAA Resident Evil game to be built for VR using the RE Engine, but we are super glad they tried. I mean, who doesn’t want to see their hand chopped off in grizzly clear virtual reality? However, this game isn’t the perfect VR experience. Many critics at the time praised its addition but criticised its sometimes-faulty delivery.

VR and horror are the perfect match. The game is terrifying, and it is perfect for fans looking for that classic horror movie aesthetic. It has a dark, vomit-worthy setting with some gut-wrenching moments. Parts of this game are amped up by a thousand with the headset on. When you experience moments like; dinner with the Baker family, or fighting your estranged partner with a knife, these are things that will never leave you.

Resident Evil 7 is an idea fit for the VR space. It is a real display of amazing graphical fidelity and environment design. You will not be quick to forget timidly exploring the Baker household and the sensation of pulling off a great boss battle.
