8. Undead
Is the villain of your campaign, a mad Lich or an evil Wizard? Perhaps you have a Paladin or a Cleric that’s on a crusade? Or maybe you just have a Warlock that wants a new friend? Well then, the Undead will be a perfect addition to your monster repertoire.
These husks can come in a variety of different forms. A zombie horde is always a good start, whether you need them to raise from the local graveyard to attack the town or a local wizard needs a few bodyguards. Dungeons more your thing? Then you need an army of skeletons. Wielding a multitude of weapons, they are the perfect stand-in enemies for any abandoned tomb or mine and you can always have something a bit tougher, such as a Wight or a Mummy at the end guarding the treasure.
The undead are a perfect start to a campaign, but they can be used throughout, all the way to the end if you wish. There is such a large variety of them in D and D. Why not get away from the dragons and creatures from the other planes for a while and enjoy some classic undead?
