10 Best Mortal Kombat Villains EVER
6. Baraka
When Richard Divizio played Baraka all the way back in Mortal Kombat II, he had to wear a vampire mask with fake fingernails superglued to his mouth. He may have looked silly (and sweated like crazy under that mask) but it was worth it since Baraka was a massive hit. His haunting face and protruding arm-blades made this walking guillotine one of series' most recognisable characters.
Born of the nomadic Tarkatan tribe, Baraka became the leader of his group. Even though Baraka's intentions weren't fully aligned with Shao Kahn, he had no choice but to fight for him in order to keep his people safe.
After Kahn fell, Baraka was forced to ally with Shinnok, Quan Chi, and even his former rival, Kitana, to ensure the safety of his clan. Despite his insatiable lust for flesh and violence, there is no question that Baraka's people always comes first, showcasing him to be a surprisingly reasonable diplomat. As vicious as he is, he is certainly not stupid. This makes the character much more interesting since his original backstory boiled down to "he's evil".
