10 Best Multiplayer Maps In Call Of Duty: Black Ops History
6. Combine
The welcome wore out for many of Black Ops 3’s launch maps fairly quickly, but Combine was one of the few which managed to feel fresh and interesting despite its heavy reliance on the new movement mechanics.
Though Combine seems like a traditional three-lane map on the surface, things get a little weird once players realize that one of the lanes can only be traversed via advanced mobility maneuvers. This added a ton of depth to the map and allowed skilled players to take advantage of a few hard-to-reach areas.
The dual balconies at the center of the map are always home to more than a few teammates eager to quickly catch someone rounding the opposing corner, and wall-running across that gap requires more than a little bit of luck. Plus, the relatively open feel of the center plaza helps Combine to excel in multiple modes of play.
While it was always annoying to have Ruin drop seemingly from nowhere and destroy an entire squad with his grav spikes, Combine still felt like a map worth returning to once Black Ops 3’s DLC season was underway.
