10. Resident Evil: Revelations
(Or for those who bought an original print of the game: Resident Evil: Revelaitions.) The Resident Evil series is known for a lot of things, but consistency is unfortunately not one of them. There are a few classic titles in the franchise, such as Resident Evil 2 and 4, but overall its been hit and miss, especially since the latter title released. RE4 took the series in a more action-packed direction while still providing plenty of the scares the games are famous for. However, Resident Evil 5 and 6 seemed to forgo their survival horror roots, and the games suffered for it. Thats why Revelations was such a surprise when it released. The game brought atmosphere and terror back to this walking corpse of a franchise. It was especially shocking that the best RE title in years happened to release on the 3DS and also happened to look damn good. With horrifying creature designs, great character models, and masterful lighting effects, Revelations is one of the best looking games on the 3DS, if not the best. Its also the only game to truly warrant a purchase of that unsightly peripheral that adds the second analog nub. Eventually, the game was ported to other consoles, probably because Capcom realized how much better this game was than RE6. Nevertheless, the genesis of Revelations was on the 3DS, and thats how history should remember it.
