10 Best Nintendo 3DS Games

9. Luigi€™s Mansion: Dark Moon

Well friends, the Year of Luigi is sadly over. In 2013, Nintendo quenched our insatiable thirst for all things Luigi by providing us with Mario and Luigi: Dream Team, Super Luigi U, and best of all, this sequel to the most underrated Gamecube game ever. 12 years we waited for the younger Mario brother to return to his ghost-busting antics, and it was most definitely worth it. One of the major complaints about the original Luigi€™s Mansion was that it was too short and only gave us one location. While this author would argue that one location had a lot of character and backstory to it, it€™s hard to argue with the wonderful direction Nintendo took the sequel. Rather than giving us one massive haunted house to explore, Dark Moon gave us several smaller ones, each one more fun than the last. This added some much-appreciated variety to the proceedings, while removing some of the backtracking that tainted the first game. Dark Moon is an ideal sequel, one that keeps most of what was beloved about its predecessor while fixing the things we complained about. One can only hope that Nintendo keeps polishing this formula, and maybe in another decade, Luigi€™s Mansion 3 will come out and be even better than this.
