2. Luigi's Mansion 3
Two Mario games on the list (three, if you count the honourable mention of New Super Mario Bros U), but for once Luigi comes out on top. The long awaited third instalment of Luigi's Mansion released during spooky season on Halloween, and offered up his most polished performance yet.
The hotel setting comes with a variety of themes per each floor, and the clear influence from the green plumber's brother's escapades in Odyssey. Where second mansion game Dark Moon had a fairly fixed storyline, this third offering is much more open ended, allowing complete exploration of every floor at or below Luigi's current level.
With 17 different storeys to the hotel, there's definitely a lot of content for Luigi to snoop around in. Gooigi, the gooey clone of Luigi from the 3DS remake, makes his return too, adding even more to the deceptively complex gameplay inside the haunted hotel.
Luigi's Mansion follows what has thankfully become a well worn Nintendo Switch tradition, of taking a beloved older game, updating all the popular features and adding a new twist of reinvention along the way.
You can pet the dog Polterpup too, which is undoubtedly a selling point for some.
