1. Revan

For all of the great things Bastila did for female Star Wars characters in Knights of the Old Republic, the game's star is still undeniably the players themselves. In fact, the role players take as the fallen Sith Lord Darth Revan represents the greatest original character ever to come out of a Star Wars game.

When players first start their adventure in KOTOR, they hear of the defeated Revan like a lost spectre of a fallen age. But as the events unfold and it transpires that the player is that same Sith Lord, the game pushes us into final stages that cement the character as one of the best in Star Wars games.

The moment of reveal is so perfect and packed with tension, in fact, that it may just be one of the greatest RPG moments of all time, let alone the greatest in a Star Wars game. The character is obviously aided by being influenced so much by the player's actions and of course we relate to them because of that, but is there really any denying that Revan is the best we've ever seen in a Star Wars game?
