10 Best Pokemon You've Probably Never Bothered Catching

1. Froslass

Froslass is a difficult Pokemon to use well. Its Ice/Ghost type combination leaves it with five different weaknesses, meaning the potential for your foe to find and exploit one is quite high. There are a specific set of circumstances, though, in which the risk can be worth taking and Froslass can be a truly influential Pokemon for your team. You need to be sure to equip it with a powerful Ice type move or two to deal with an opponent's Dragon if necessary. You'll also want to make sure you give your Froslass the move 'Destiny Bond'. This move will mean that the Pokemon that deals a knockout blow to Froslass will also faint instantly. This move can be an excellent last resort, especially if used when Froslass is on its last legs and against a fresh enemy in the battle. Ideally you wouldn't ever use a Pokemon as a sacrifice, but it is always a worthwhile and sometimes incredibly effective back up. Froslass has a great Speed stat and more often than not you'll be able to land the crucial first strike with it. It is equally proficient with Attack and Special Attack and so both physical or distance moves can be employed to good use. Finally, to get the best out of Froslass you'l want to get one with the hidden ability 'Cursed Body'. This ability gives Froslass a 30% chance of disabling an opponent's move after being hit by it. This means that you may be able to take away some of your foe's most devastating attacks without needing a specific strategy to deal with them. This does count on a small slice of luck going your way, but when the odds are in your favour you can really exploit your opponent with this. So there you have it; a selection of ten Pokemon that, in my opinion at least, have been unfairly overlooked by competitive battling teams in the past. Next time you're refreshing your line-up give a second thought to these Pokemon who can apparently be far more effective than their obscurity would suggest. We also want to hear from you; have you tried any of these Pokemon in your team before? If so, how did you make them work, or not, as the case may be? Are there any others that you feel should have made this list? Hit up the comments below and give us your opinion on some of the best Pokemon that you feel are being harshly overlooked by competitive battlers!
