10 Best PS2 Games Of All Time
2. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
It was hardly a secret that this game would be making an appearance at some point on this list, but that’s only because it did such a great job of earning its spot.
Rockstar’s love letter to the 90s street gangs of LA, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, broke new ground on the level of content that a game on a single disc could provide. It just seemed to have everything. Driving, shooting, swimming, exercising, eating, dating, helicopters, planes, boats, jetpacks; the list went on and on.
When you threw in one of the biggest maps the console had seen and a well written, 40+ hour story, you definitely got your money’s worth. The 2004 title was the pinnacle of what was already a massively popular franchise, and it consumed the lives of players globally upon release.
Like all games of this magnitude, it had its low points, such as following the damn train, Zero’s RC chopper side-missions and the god-awful flight school. However, these never overshadowed the absolute highs we got from taking over every neighbourhood, high-rolling in Las Venturas, stealing a jetpack from Area 69, or even just grabbing some drive-through with the homies.
Grove Street Families for Life.
