10 Best RPGs From 1990 - 1999

7. Diablo

Fallout 2
Blizzard

Blizzard may be a titan of gaming now but back when they released this action role-playing game they only had a few games under their belt. Released in 1997 Diablo was the start of what would become one of the most well-known RPG series of all time.

Diablo is set in a world which Angels and Demons fought over eons ago, while other creatures may live in the mortal realm now, there is always the threat of the war reigniting. As you journey across the land you will travel through villages, caves, and eventually Hell itself.

The game was only released with three classes, Warrior, Rogue, and sorcerer (With the fourth one, Monk, Coming in the Hellfire expansion.) These classes are very well rounded, with them all having their own distinct strengths and weaknesses.

The real joy of this game though comes from the replay value. Every time you start a new game all the maps are randomly generated. The quest is also drawn from a selection of different ones.

The Diablo series would go from strength to strength in the coming years, becoming what it is today.
