2. The Adventurer - Bravely Default
Secret bosses in RPG's are par for the course. As mentioned earlier, this could be populated with Final Fantasy bosses alone, but that wouldn't be fair on everyone else. Yet Bravely Default gets a mention because it's a top notch, traditional RPG that homages the FF series.
The Adventurer, for the most part of your journey, is always conveniently next to a save point. Which, fair enough, you may expect in towns and such, but the final dungeon(s) of the game? Hmm, maybe there's more to this maroon wearing merchant than appears.
The big twist though, is that there's not just one adventurer and his trusty comrade, but a whole damn troupe of them! Which makes this battle even harder, for if you don't take out the current adventurer and buddy in the same turn, they replenish with another one at the end of the round!
So this turns an already difficult fight into one of tactics and timing, to make sure you can fell them both in one well swoop. Seems these adventurers have learnt some tricks on their travels.
