10 Best Super Nintendo Soundtracks

5. Donkey Kong Country The second best-selling game on the SNES, this groundbreaking effort featured an outstanding soundtrack. Composed by Robin Beanland, Eveline Fischer and Davd Wise, this soundtrack features some outstanding pieces, heavily focused on the jungle theme. A variety of musical styles are represented, including some beautiful atmospheric pieces, but the shining moments are the percussion heavy tracks. Drums of all sorts are present, from bongos and congas, to more electronic and rock kits. Synthesizers carry in another large list of instruments, and the clashing of musical styles is fascinating. Epic touches are added to the more intense levels and ominous sounds and echoes reverberate throughout the mine levels. An extremely unique soundtrack full of the very fun and excitement that is Donkey Kong, at times it feels like a bossanova band playing an Amazonian rave. It is impossible to play this game without tapping your feet of bobbing your head.
