5. Dead By Daylight
Similar to Friday The 13th: The Game, Dead By Daylight is another asymmetrical multiplayer title that pits a group of four helpless survivors who must – well - survive against a murderous monster whose goal is to hunt you down and sacrifice you to a supernatural force known as The Entity.
A tense game of cat and mouse developed by Behaviour Interactive and releasing just prior to the previous title, the goal of the survivors is to activate five generators scattered around the sizeable maps to open the doors needed to escape. You’re completely vulnerable while interacting with generators, making you an easy target for the killer (who plays in a first-person perspective). However, if a survivor is captured other players can lend a hand to keep their chances of victory as strong as possible.
Unlike the Friday The 13th game, though, Dead By Daylight offers a selection of 20 killers that span all aspects of the slasher genre from psychotic hillbillies to vengeful spectres. And with the inclusion of expansions that introduced iconic horror characters from both the worlds of cinema and gaming, horror fans would be doing themselves a disservice for missing out on this frightfully fun experience.
