3. Mage Hand

Wizards of the Coast

One of the most famous and widely used of all the utility spells, available to Bards, Sorcerers, Warlocks and Wizards.

This Cantrip allows the caster to produce a spectral hand that can manipulate the world around them. While the hand cannot travel more than 30-feet away from the caster and can’t carry more than 10 pounds, an ingenious player can use this Cantrip to cause all sorts of mischief.

A few things this hand can do is, manipulate objects, open unlocked doors (especially good for trapped ones). Put an item in a container or pour out the contents of a vial. This should already be giving you a lot of ideas on how to progress through that next dungeons, but with a little creativity, the mage hand can achieve so much more.

Are you a thief, well then, how about picking someone’s pocket from 30-feet away? Even if they realise it’s happening, they probably won’t know it’s you? The mage hand can only carry 10 pounds, that doesn’t mean it can’t tie a rope to something and bring the other end back to you. Technically the hand can’t attack but if your dungeon master allows it, maybe two mage hand users could shoot a bow together.

The mage hand can do most things s normal hand can do, and we know how useful they are.
