10 Best Vampires In Video Games
8. Vamp (Metal Gear Solid)
Suppose you've got a vampire in your game. In that case, it's probably either a fantasy project with a focus on mythological beings or a title that deliberately revolves around the creatures as a whole.
But that's what makes Vamp from the MGS series such a great "vampire", as he transcends the typical limitations of his species and jumps into an entirely new arena.
Vamp isn't a vampire in the traditional sense, in that a pre-existing vampire never created him. Instead, he found himself ingesting the blood of his family after being pierced by a crucifix and buried underground after a bombing in his home country of Romania. The loss of a traditional distinctly supernatural origin is easy to ignore when the character's circumstances are that metal.
He's appeared in a few mainline instalments of the MGS series, those being Sons of Liberty and Guns of the Patriots. But he's also cropped up in some non-canon titles like Metal Gear Acid 2, Metal Gear Solid: Social Ops and more.
He has made a great impression in all the games he's a part of, thanks to his awesome design and incredible abilities, including but not limited to; superhuman speed, healing and the ability to walk on walls.
