While DOOM Eternal might look better, run faster, and be so full of gore that it slops out of the sides, when it comes to making an impact, the 2016 version holds all the cards. Its thumping soundtrack, visceral violence and unrelenting action swept through the gaming community, acting as the shot of adrenaline we didn't know we needed.
