8. Batman: Arkham City - "There's Plenty Wrong With Me"

A tale as old as time, the Joker will always be the main antagonist in Batman's universe. The Arkham series of games knows this, crafting several tales around the Crown Prince of Crime's antics throughout (well, besides Arkham Knight. That one's a bit different).

Thought incarcerated and a bit of a mess at the end of Asylum, Batman's lock up in Strange's City proves otherwise. After sorting out Dent, Batman's problems add up when it turns out Joker is alive and... not well.

Turns out, the Titan formula didn't do him any favours. Besides the damage to his physiology, it's also given him an increased mortality rate. To put it otherwise, he needs a cure.

But it wouldn't be a Batman story/game without some dramatic flair, and in that regard, City delivers. Mark Hamill chews scenery as players get to see the extent of Joker's deterioration, as well as poisoning Batman as a fail-safe.

It's not "impending doom monologue" so early in the game, but it does set the tone for Batman's mission in this hellish prison city.
