Best exclusive titles: Resistance series, Uncharted series, Demon's Souls, Journey, Heavy Rain, Gran Turismo 5, God of War III/Ascension, Metal Gear Solid IV, Killzone 2/3, Ratchet & Clank, inFamous 1/2, LittleBigPlanet 1/2 In the end, it's probably the PS3's library of exclusives that helped it edge out the X360 in the last console war. Titles like Resistance, Uncharted, and Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction kicked things off. All these series would build momentum over the next several years, in Naughty Dog and Uncharted's case culminating in the spectacular Last of Us - a beautiful, harrowing swansong for its console generation. Superhero adventure Infamous was hard not to like, while the Killzone series rose to greatness on the PS3, offering one of the best online multiplayer experiences of its time. It was with the PS3 that Sony began courting indie developers too, resulting in hugely successful experimental games like Flower and Journey. Quantic Dream, meanwhile, essentially became Sony's 'serious storytelling' arm with the lauded Heavy Rain, and the ambitious but clumsy, Beyond: Two Souls. Oh, and where would the much-loved 'Souls' series be today had a little game called Demon's Souls not popped up exclusively on the PS3?
