10 Best Video Game Factions You COULDN'T Join

Throughout the story of Baldur’s Gate 3, your party of adventures needs to make several calls as to which group and organization they’re going to support. Most of the time, the game gives you plenty of freedom in this regard. However, there is one faction that you can never join or even support, no matter how hard you try.

The cult of Bane, the ruthless god of tyranny, is one of the three religious groups responsible for the creation of the game’s main antagonist, the Absolute. The group is ruled by Enver Gortash, who, if you choose to play as the Dark Urge, will turn out to be a close friend of your murder-obsessed character and offer to work together to dominate the world in the name of your respective gods.

Now, being a tyrannical despot of a brain-washed empire sounds like a pretty lonely job, which is why the prospect of allying yourself with Gortash’s cult sounds pretty appealing.

Unfortunately, even if you accept his offer, Gortash is scripted to randomly die shortly after, so your plans of having an evil buddy go down the drain faster than the rock that drops on his head.
