6. Dr. Tippets Is Peter Cushing (Vampyr)

Vampyr isn't the most technically accomplished game to hit shelves in 2018 so far, but what it lacks in quality it more than makes up for in ambition. It's clear that the developers adore the classic vampire fiction they're working off, and that passion for the project manifested in multiple easter eggs referencing their biggest influences.

By far the one that rewarded the most die-hard fans of undead fiction, though, was the character of Dr. Tippets. Modelled pretty much entirely on Peter Cushing, a Hammer Horror icon best known for his roles as Tarkin in Star Wars and Doctor Van Helsing in the '50s and '60s Dracula movies, Tippets is a direct ode to the actor's genre work.

So while the overall experience might not be as polished as it could be, it's the small touches like this that make Vampyr so engaging, and a complete joy to play through for fans of classic horror.
