7. O'Hara's Haunted House (Far Cry 5)

Though a couple of Far Cry quests almost made it onto this list (including helping Larry finally get into contact with the aliens he was so fond of), it was the O'Hara's Haunted House Pepper Stash which beat out the rest.

Though they're usually only simple puzzles designed as small breaks away from the main and side missions, these challenges surprisingly housed some of the best content the game had to offer, each delivering a small, isolated story and a smattering of rewards. O'Hara's locked barn initially seems like any other stash, but once you break inside it quickly becomes apparent that you've stepped into a terrifying game.

Kitted out with a number of traps and surprises, the claustrophobic barn is dressed up like a demented haunted house. The thing is, it's genuinely quite scary to roam the halls, with the developers including some surprising jump scares and enough creepy imagery to make every turn suspenseful. Though Far Cry has dipped its toes in multiple genres across the years, this mission had everyone craving a full on, horror-inspired entry in the series.
