10 Best Video Games Levels Of 2018 (So Far)

5. Chapter 3 (Celeste)

Celeste Game
Matt Makes Games

Already going down as one of the best games of the year so far, each level in the short-but-sweet puzzle-platformer Celeste could have been in contention for this list, but it's the third chapter that has a special place in fans' hearts.

Though it's visually not quite as vibrant as some of the other stages, the haunted house theme is still impressive, and acts as a suitable backdrop for a notable spike in difficulty. A pretty tough title overall, this third chapter is when the training wheels properly come off, leaving it to the players' own wits to tackle the many, many pitfalls Celeste is littered with.

It's great because not only does it work as an isolated challenge in itself, but as a satisfying, subtle payoff for everything the title has taught you over the past two levels, putting all your skills to the test.
