10 Best Western RPGs Of The Noughties
6. Mass Effect
Another entry in this list for Bioware. It’s almost as if they know what they’re doing when it comes to an RPG! Mass Effect has become a massive series over the years and while the choices of the later games may have been questionable, the original is still a classic.
You play as the soldier known as Shepard. Your mission is to investigate mysterious goings on in the galaxy and to uncover a plotted alien invasion of the Milky Way. The game features many different classes, weapons, and companions. All these together allow you to fight in a number of different ways. Maybe you want to specialise in hacking and tech? Or perhaps use them amazing Bionic powers? Perhaps you just want to shoot your way through and blow things up? These are all acceptable ways to play this game. It makes sure that all the class abilities and companions feel balanced but also impactful.
There are also a number of moral choices that can be made throughout. These aren’t really good or evil, but they're more about how ruthless you are. After all, while you may want to be a good guy, you’ve got a galaxy to save. You may have to make sacrifices.
