10 Best Western RPGs Of The Noughties

3. Fallout 3

Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic
Bethesda

This game marks Bethesda’s first foray into the world of Fallout. It saw the RPG series turning from an isometric turn-based RPG into a first-person RPG. It was a massive leap for the series. A lot of fans were very hesitant about the change, and while you can’t please everybody, most found Fallout 3 to be an interesting and exciting game.

The world of Fallout has always been a dark one and this game is no different. You will have to search across the length and breadth of the Capital Wasteland for you recently missing father. This mission will see you trawl old vaults, shanty towns, and eventually face a threat greater than anything you could imagine.

Bethesda were very smart in their use of the unique VATS system. You are allowed to use it on the fly to target certain body parts and even weapons. This, coupled with a massive array of skills and perks allows the player to create a unique character.

These systems, combined with well-written characters and dramatic landscapes, made this game an all-time classic.
