10 Best Wii U Games So Far

4. Super Mario 3D World

No Nintendo console is complete without a 3D Mario adventure and while Wii U's doesn't quite meet the soaring highs of the Wii's Mario Galaxy games, it's an enjoyable, colourful platformer that adds a lot of new mechanics to the series. Firstly, it's the first 3D game in the series to support up to four players. Seriously trying to complete the game with three inept friends for company is a sure-fire way to increase blood pressure to dangerous levels, so it's best to take a more vindictive approach and make the game about how many ways you can screw your friends over instead (using their heads as a springboard to leap to safety always works). Secondly, it has two new power-ups in the form of the adorable cat suit and the mind bending clone cherry. The cat suit allows players to scratch and climb their way to victory, while the clone cherry creates up to 3 copies of their character that can all be controlled simultaneously. Mario 3D World isn't the revolutionary leap that Mario Galaxy was, but it's still an awesome Mario adventure that's worthy of a place in anyone's Wii U game library.

When I'm not playing games, I'm probably either writing about them somewhere or singing stupid songs inspired by them. Or eating pizza.
