Released: November 2012Month Offered: April 2014 Another game with a quick turn around from release to give away at just around a year and a half, Hitman: Absolution was a treat to fans. It was a game a lot of people who weren't diehard fans of the series didn't pick up, but not because it was bad - but simply because they were unfamiliar with it. In terms of a traditional Hitman game though, this game does take some flak. A lot of longtime fans criticised how it went from the immensely open-ended areas that gave players much more freedom to execute objectives, to a strictly linear structure that almost dumbed down the game itself. While hardcore fans of the game have a justifiable complaint, in terms of a game with no expectations the general public is getting for free, it was perfect. Absolution had great replayability as you could go into missions a couple of different ways, and the tinkering with strategies made for a fun time. While it may not be the most revered in the series, it was a good gift to the general consumer.
