Platformers might have once been the most popular, profitable type of game ten or so years ago, but that's no longer the case. In an industry dominated by gritty shooters, AAA action-adventures and open world sandboxes, it's difficult to find a decent platform game outside of the indie world. Fortunately, Ubisoft have managed to keep the genre relevant, thanks to their fantastic reboots of the Rayman franchise. Rayman Legends is their latest in the series, and also the best yet. Although it makes use of 2D graphics, the game is nothing short of stunning. Fantastically detailed and wonderfully animated, it can often feel like playing through a Saturday morning cartoon.
